About the event
Ripple lakes are two former gravel pits on the Severn floodplain. Resident birds include a variety of waterfowl with farmland birds in the surrounding hedges. There should also be a good variety of dragonflies.
There is a miscellany of ducks, waders, passage waders, Cormorant and Gull roosts and many other possibilities with occasional rarities.
The circular walk should take between 2.5 to 3 hours and cover around 2-3 miles of flat, though possibly very wet, ground.
9.30 am at The Railway Inn Ripple (near Junction 1 off the M50). This is the only available parking close to the site and car-sharing should be adopted wherever possible. Lunch at the pub - if not having lunch a donation to the pub’s charity should be made.Meet:
